Our high performance syntactic materials are designed to work seamlessly with Toray prepregs and resins. These unique materials are proven in filler and core applications within the aerospace and high performance automotive industries, adding strength and stiffness without adding weight.
Syntactics
Valued for their light weight and high strength, Toray's syntactics materials are used to fill honeycomb core or hollow spaces, providing strength for fasteners and preventing moisture/fluid ingression. Many of Toray's radome materials have companion low dielectric syntactic systems produced in carbon-free, electrically pure environments.

High Strength
Toray's syntactic materials have high compressive strengths to efficiently transfer the load between fasteners and composite skins.
Low Outgassing
Toray's syntactics materials are approved for use on spaceflight structure. These materials have been tested and approved for space, exhibiting low outgassing and low moisture absorption.
Low Loss/Low Dielectric
Toray's syntactics are low in dielectric strength and are low loss materials compatible with Toray's radomes prepregs. This provides radome fabricators with a matched system for complex multi-core radome fabrication.
Lightweight
Toray's suite of syntactic films, expanding films, and pastes are lightweight, providing for efficient composite structure in usage.

Syntactic Films
Toray's syntactic films provide permanent structural bonds that resist heat and harsh environments, while our surfacing films provide high-quality surfaces off the tool, offering a blemish-free, ready-to-prime composite surface.

Syntactic Expanding Films
Toray's expanding foams are used in closed mold applications to generate internal pressure, as the hollow microspheres inside expand with the application of heat during the curing process. They feature good high temperature and dielectric properties.

Syntactic Pastes
Toray's syntactic pastes are valued for their extremely low density and good structural properties. These materials do not require pressing during cure to achieve their mechanical properties and are easily machined to shape if required.

Toray MicroPly™ TCF4045
Toray MicroPly™ TCF4045 is a low-density epoxy syntactic film. It displays both good mechanical and low dielectric loss and constant properties. The material's base resin chemistry features low moisture absorption with good high temperature properties.
