Lightning Strike Protection
Today's aerospace composites require lightning strike protection. Toray's composite surfacing films are offered with conductive metal foils for easy handling and efficient lay-up. Toray's composite surfacing films may be ordered with various weights of conductive foils to achieve the desired lightning strike protection for your composite part.
Thermocycle Resistant
Composite surfacing films must endure the multiple flight cycles that an aircraft encounters from hot humid weather on the ground to dry cold weather at altitude. Toray composite surfacing films are toughened to provide resistance to microcracking during this thermal cycling.
Cosmetic Surface Finish
Toray's composite surfacing films provide a protective layer over the composite surface that acts as a barrier for UV light and moisture. Composite surfacing films also provide an enhanced surface for paint primers and aerospace coatings.

Toray MicroPly™ TC235SF-1
Toray MicroPly™ TC235SF-1 is an epoxy composite surfacing film, allowing a smooth, paintable surface from tooling or, a thin-skinned honeycomb stiffened composite structure. It may be cured under vacuum only pressure or under low autoclave pressure.
