Lightning Strike Integration

Textures

Galvanic Corrosion Prevention
To prevent galvanic corrosion, a barrier layer between metals and carbon-reinforced composites is essential. Toray Cetex® thermoplastic laminates are available with a qualified glass scrim, providing an electrically isolating layer and eliminating the need for secondary processing.

Color Options
Save time and weight. Toray Cetex® can be pigmented to a range of colors to either completely eliminate paint or reduce the volume required to achieve visual quality.
Processing RTLs
Reinforced thermoplastic laminates are ideal for the high-volume manufacture of composite parts due to their rapid processability, and can be easily processed using a range of methods.
Welding
Welding provides a seamless joint between substrates and can be married with overmolding to add functionality and integrate additional parts, making it an ideal alternative to time-consuming and potentially weaker adhesive bonding and mechanical fixation techniques.
Thermoforming
The high-quality consolidation of Cetex® thermoplastic composites in both UD tape and RTL formats allows for simple heating and forming processes that take minutes.

Overmolding

Trimming and Routing
Toray Cetex® RTLs can be cut to shape for secondary processing, most commonly by sawing, milling, or waterjet cutting.
Forming Simulation
Modern-day software accurately predicts forming Toray’s Cetex® laminates, giving a near-to-reality insight in the production process. This makes parts more efficient in geometry and material usage and at the same time shortens time to market. This software also prevents costly bridging and consolidation issues and helps avoid deformations and wrinkles in the fabric.
