Toray Advanced Composites to Present at ACMA's Thermoplastic Composites Conference

Morgan Hill, California (March 11, 2022) — Toray Advanced Composites will have a team of long-term Thermoplastic Composites champions joining other top industry leaders at the ACMA's Thermoplastic Composites Conference (TCC 2022) from March 22nd to the 24th.

With over 35 years of experience in composite structure engineering, DeWayne Howell, Senior Applications Engineer and Project Manager, will open the discussion on Successful Manufacturing of Large Integrated Aerostructures via Thermoplastic Technologies on March 22nd at 4:15 pm. 

The presentation will explore the rapid innovation of manufacturing methods used to leverage thermoplastic composite characteristics from innovations in material lay-up, part consolidation through final assembly. To achieve the renaissance, learn about how Toray is leading the global thermoplastic revolution through collaborative projects with NASA and EU subsidized programs with the goal to increase performance, producibility, and scalability. Join other industry leaders as DeWayne dives into a case study based on Automated Fiber Placement (AFP) where rates of 4,000 inches (100 meters) per minute with Cetex® TC1225 is achieved through a unique laser heating system. 

Expanding the thermoplastic revolution, Scott Unger, CTO & Managing Director, along with Steve Cease, VP of Technology & Strategic Marketing and other Toray representatives will also attend and are available to meet.
