Toray to Showcase Advanced Composite Materials at CAMX in Anaheim, CA

29 September 2022

Morgan Hill, California (September 29, 2022) The Toray Group, North America composite divisions, will be at the 2022 Composite Advanced Materials Expo (CAMX) in Anaheim, California, on October 18 – 20, booth U14. Toray will feature its suite of carbon fiber, thermoset and thermoplastic composite materials geared towards aerospace and defense, automotive, sports and recreation, and industrial markets.

Composite Highlights

Toray Composite Materials America, Inc. will showcase the TORAYCA™ carbon fiber, which has the widest range of tensile and modulus properties for carbon fiber available in the market today, and its high-performing prepreg systems. Show attendees have the opportunity of learning about the rapid cure, process-flexible 2700 prepreg system prior to the show by attending a webinar hosted by CompositesWorld on October 13, 11am PDT. Attendees will learn how the material addresses challenges on scalability in aerospace composite manufacturing.

Another material that will be showcased is Toray Advanced Composites’ Cetex® suite of high-performance thermoplastic composite materials. These materials exhibit excellent mechanical properties and processing advantages, and enable high-rate production and automation for large-scale primary and secondary aircraft structure parts as utilized in next-generation aerospace programs.

Toray Performance Materials Corporation will showcase the Toray ENVIR-BOND® technology, a continuous fiber-reinforced thermoplastic composite sheet material which improves processing and reduces the amount of harmful solvents used in the manufacturing process for customer factories. The company’s products will also be featured in a technical session titled “PMMA Composite Recycling – A Shift Towards Net Zero Discharge,” presented by Jinfeng Zhuge, technology leader. The session is part of the Green & Sustainability track and will be on Tuesday, October 18, at 3:30pm, PDT.

Other featured materials include:

  • TORAYCA™ T1100, next-generation intermediate modulus (IM) carbon fiber, meets tight physical property manufacturing tolerances and provides excellent processability in high-performance manufacturing methods.
  • AmberTool® HX56 composite tooling prepreg enables production of a precision composite tool with superior accuracy and surface finish.
  • CFRT® TL-6000, is a continuous fiber-reinforced thermoplastic laminate. This product is available in multiple constructions from 2-Layers up to 7-Layers; all ultra-thin, lightweight, and resilient. This material can be drilled, ground, polished, and heat adjusted. TL-6000 has a smooth high-gloss finish and is used widely in the Orthopedic market.
