TenCate Advanced Composites will be showcasing their latest product developments in both thermoset and thermoplastic technologies at the Advanced Engineering show this week (Birmingham, UK) 4-5 November, stand D135.

Items on display include:

  • Industry leading TenCate AmberTool® tooling prepreg range, designed for complete tooling freedom.
  • Olympic winning full carbon bow, made using TenCate low cure thermoset prepregs
  • A full size compression moulded Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey wing fence panel, designed to disrupt the wind flow over the wing during flight to aid in stability, made using TenCate bulk moulding compounds
  • Thermoplastic automotive demonstrator, utlilising TenCate Cetex® thermoplastic reinforced thermoplastic laminates (also known as organic sheets).

New products for the automotive industry

Recently launched products by TenCate include:

TenCate Cetex® TC912 - a PA6 thermoplastic for a range of structural and semi structural high volume automotive applications, offering improved mechanical properties and tailored fabric architecture available in both woven and UD reinforcements

TenCate E731 - a toughened epoxy resin system designed to deliver enhanced resin clarity for cosmetic components within high performance automotive. The resin formulation ensures that components are free from white-spots and exhibit high clarity.

A new European home of global technology

TenCate will also be discussing the expansion in both capability and capacity at their Langley Mill (Nottingham) plant, which is set to become the UK centre of excellence for thermoset systems, and will bring true carbon free manufacturing of thermoset prepregs to the EMEA region. This will serve existing high performance markets such as motorsport and Formula 1, in addition to space, satellite, radome and aerostructure applications.
