We are looking for an experienced HR professional to join our team. This role is both strategic and tactical in nature with the intent on making a positive impact on the employees and culture at Toray Advanced Composites. The successful candidate will partner closely with the managers and employees to help translate organizational needs to HR solutions and plans.


• Partner and coach people leaders and their teams on HR issues including development, engagement and performance management

• Promote positive employee relations through design, communication and interpretation of HR policies and programs that support company objectives

• Answer employee questions regarding employment, benefits, etc

• Enter and review payroll related transaction

• Partner with finance on processing payroll

• Evaluate and advise on programs or strategies that impact attraction, engagement, development and retention of the people resources of the business

• Support and implement engagement strategies and initiatives based on qualitative data from employee surveys

• Maintain and enhance employee benefits programs and partner with benefit providers/vendors on implementation of programs

• Support the annual compensation planning process and review of pay structures

• Coordinate and support training programs, performance appraisal process and benefit programs

• Support the full-cycle recruiting process through engagement with candidates, hiring managers, HR team and staffing agencies as needed

• Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements

• Partner and support the EHS team on workers compensation program and actively support the company safety program and initiatives


• BA/BS in Business, Human Resources or related field

• Minimum of 5 years of HR Generalist experience

• Experience supporting a manufacturing environment preferred


• Comprehensive HR knowledge and experience, including all aspects of the employee lifecycle

• Demonstrated ability in managing difficult and/or complex employee relations issues

• Strong knowledge of state and federal employment laws, labor laws, compliance requirements and immigration laws

• Solid understanding of payroll activities

• Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills

• Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive matters effectively

• Ability to influence without authority and develop positive professional relationships at all levels of the organization

• Ability to use a high level of tact, diplomacy, discretion and empathy/understanding

• Experience working with a variety of functions including manufacturing, product development, quality, and R&D

• Proficiency in preparing reports and ability to analyze data

• Skilled in MS Office applications

• Ability to travel as needed


• Experience with process improvement approaches (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, etc)

• Involvement in change management initiatives

• Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills

• Self-motivated; bias for action
