SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:

The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading manufacturing teams to ensure a safe work environment in achieving production schedules, product quality and coordinating with all functional and service groups to meet or exceed customer requirements. The Production Supervisor drives performance to meet or exceed financial plans and strategic goals as well as motivates employees to maintain a high performance culture.

MAJOR DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Assures that policies, procedures and other documentation are followed to ensure consistent and compliant products.
  • Proactively implements, promotes, and maintains a safe working environment through diligence in accident prevention, investigation, equipment maintenance, and rule enforcement.
  • Leads, facilitates, and coordinates production activities and resources per established practices and/or policies to ensure the timely delivery of quality products that meet or exceed customer's expectations
  • Initiate and continuously manage improvements to manufacturing processes.
  • Completes administrative tasks in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Establishes and maintains a positive, respectful and productive work environment.
  • Clearly communicates expectations and holds employees accountable for performance.
  • Effectively addresses and manages employee performance and behavioral issues.
  • Motivates and coaches employees and teams to maintain high levels of productivity and quality. Ensure that employees have the necessary skills, knowledge, information and tools to do their jobs safely and effectively.
  • Ensures work place safety and good housekeeping and that work orders are neat and orderly at all times.
  • Position requires shift flexibility.
  • Perform all duties in compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Manufacturing Manager or designee.

EXPERIENCE AND/OR EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum high school diploma (Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred)
  • Minimum of two to three years of related experience in a manufacturing environment with a minimum of five years of leadership experience
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office tools including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Able to work and communicate as a member of a team and experience in working in and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Must be familiar with computer systems including MS Office and data base systems (Microsoft Dynamics AX preferred).
  • Must be able to communicate clearly (written and verbally) in English.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills and the ability to work with all levels of the company.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of measurements conversion and weights in metric and standards.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to perform normal computer related tasks.
  • Must be able to spend extending periods of time walking around the plant as part of normal job functions.
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to operate a pallet jack and fork lift (must have a current valid driver's license).
