The Helpdesk Technician position requires a hands-on, dynamic person with a blend of technical, business, and communication skills. This role includes ticket support, desktop support, application support, maintaining IT documentation, and coordinating external vendors to service/repair equipment.


  • Utilize helpdesk application to manage IT requests via ticket system
  • First line of support for all users experiencing technical issues
  • Setup, maintenance, and rebuilding of workstations
  • Able to troubleshoot, debug, and analyze system issues while exhibiting a sense of urgency
  • Perform routine audit of systems, software, and programs used in the workplace
  • Develop and update IT documentation including system configurations
  • Manage vendor relationships and contract negotiations
  • Continually focus on improving IT and team-level work processes


  • College or trade school degree in CIS/MIS, or computer science
  • MCP, MTA, MCSA or equivalent in mid-size to large server environments
  • 1+ year of experience supporting IT infrastructure technologies, including mobile, phone systems, and business applications
  • Flexible with work schedule in order to support various manufacturing shifts and to accommodate system upgrades/maintenance that must be performed outside normal operating hours
  • Attention to detail, well organized, and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to a variety of audiences
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Demonstrated aptitude for learning new technologies
