SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:

Toray Advanced Composites is looking for an experienced Senior Technical Accounting and Reporting Analyst that will report directly to the Controller. This role will be part of the Finance team responsible for the standalone financial statements for the US Composites Group, accounting and reporting of significant accounting transactions, all technical accounting research and other special projects. The ideal candidate is thoroughly familiar with IFRS and technical accounting subjects, such as revenue recognition, leases, debt, and property plant & equipment and cost accounting.

Preferably, the candidate will have relevant experience in a large international company and working with Big 4 audit firms. The role requires someone who has experience operating in a fast-paced company environment with the associated reporting deadlines practical approach to make processes more efficient and streamlined. The ideal candidate must be detail oriented, have strong organization and communication skills and be very hands-on. The Senior Technical Accounting and Reporting Analyst prepares the financial statements and footnote disclosure for the annual report, coordinates the annual audit, assists with technical accounting research, acquisitions and assists with various financial analyses. The Senior Technical Accounting and Reporting Analyst interfaces extensively with the following teams: general ledger and consolidations, treasury, financial planning and analysis, corporate finance, and both internal and external audit. The Senior Technical Accounting and Reporting Analyst participates in process improvements projects. This role will not have direct reports.


MAJOR DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prepare the US Composites Group consolidated financial statements, including the balance sheet, income statement, statement of equity, statement of cash flow and disclosures under IFRS
  • Ensure quality control over the annual report
  • Collaborate with other accounting and finance teams and internal & external auditors
  • Prepare supporting financial statement flux analyses at the consolidated-level
  • Assist treasurer in determining compliance with financial covenants
  • Ensures compliance with internal controls, including internal controls per statutory requirements (JSOX)
  • Analyze new and proposed accounting standards and determine the impact on Toray Advanced Composites and implement new accounting standards, as required
  • Maintain, update, and evaluate accounting policies & procedures in line with IFRS
  • Assist in researching and preparing high-quality accounting memos for significant accounting transactions and ensure these transactions are properly accounted for and disclosed
  • Assist and support other Group management on special projects as needed

EXPERIENCE AND/OR EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Master Degree preferred)
  • CPA with strong understanding of GAAP (IFRS preferred)
  • Minimum 3-5 years of auditing and/or financial reporting experience
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of IFRS and SOX compliance
  • Evidence of exceptional ability in reporting and technical accounting
  • Detail-oriented and the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize appropriately, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Auditing experience from a Big 4 accounting firm is highly preferred
  • Experienced with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics AX preferred)
  • Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Experience drafting policies, procedures and SOX narrratives
  • Willingness to work extended hours as needed. Desire to move ahead in their career/goal oriented and motivated
  • Recent experience working with IFRS
