We are seeking a motivated, proactive and talented Senior R&PD technician to join the Research & Product Development team on the location in Nijverdal.

Together with your fellow colleagues, you will support activities related funded projects in which you will be contributing by supporting activities related to the development of new materials and processes. This means that you will be a critical member of the team supporting our development activities. Of course you can always rely on the team in Nijverdal or your international colleagues in the UK, US and Japan.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support team members in terms of thermoplastic or thermoset composites development;
  •  Participate and oversee R&D prepreg trials;
  • Perform, analyze and report on material characterization;
  • Support multidisciplinary internal and external projects;
  • Collaborate with the different TAC teams.

The R&PD Department

You will be part of the Research & Product Development team in Nijverdal, our European center of excellence for thermoplastic composites. The focus of the team is the development of lightweight materials for a wide range of current and future applications, such as aerospace and urban mobility. Many disciplines come together in our profession: Materials science, (aerospace) engineering and chemistry.

Experience with composites and polymers is therefore a major advantage. We are looking for someone with a creative, open mind, an inquisitive attitude and the motivation to become the best in everything related to our carbon fiber reinforced materials. Your responsibility is expected to be divided as follows depending on your experience: 30% R&PD prepreg manufacturing support, 40% preparation of samples such as laminates or test coupons and 30% supporting experimental activities such as mechanical testing or material characterizations.

Experience, education and skills

  • BSC degree plus industrial experience (3-10years) in the field of composite material;
  • A good level of understanding of the English and Dutch language verbally and written;
  • Experience with mechanical testing, polymer and composites characterization;
  • Experience with thermoplastic and/or thermoset and their processing;
  • Experience with Lead/Six sigma and 5S is an advantage;
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.

• Salary between € 3.400 and € 3.700 gross per month depending on work experience;

• 185 annual leave hours, plus an additional 156 ADV hours if you work fulltime;

• Travel allowance if you live more than 6 km from Nijverdal;
