We are seeking a motivated, proactive Sustainability Project Manager to join the Research & Product Development team on the location in Nijverdal.
Together with your fellow engineers, you will manage projects in which you and your team will be responsible for the implementation of Toray Advanced Composites’ sustainability roadmap. This means that you and your team initiate and support sustainability activities within Toray Advanced Composites. You can always rely on the team in Nijverdal or your international colleagues in the UK, US and Japan. Concrete tasks are further:
- Lead sustainability projects and activities.
- Be the face of Toray Advanced Composites for all sustainability topics towards Toray Group companies and external parties.
- Responsible for the development of recycling technology and their products therefore.
- Responsible for the creation and dissemination of TAC products’ life cycle analysis.
- Collaborate within large national funding programs and lead in external bilateral projects.
- Support team members in terms of thermoplastic composites development.
- Evaluate, summarize and report results to the local and global team.
R&D
You will be part of the Research & Product Development team in Nijverdal, our European center of excellence for thermoplastic composites. Focus of the team is the development of lightweight materials for a wide range of current and future applications, such as aerospace and urban mobility. Many disciplines come together in our profession: materials science, (aerospace) engineering and chemistry.
Experience with composites and polymers is therefore a major advantage. We are looking for someone with a creative, open mind, an inquisitive attitude and the motivation to become the best in everything related to our sustainability portfolio and sustainability strategy. Your responsibility is expected to be divided as follows, depending on your experience: 50-60% project management, 40-50% experimental activities such as support recycling trials, material characterization and supervising production trials.
Education, experience and skills
- PhD or Master degree plus industrial experience (+ 5 years) in the field of composite material or sustainability.
- A good level of understanding the English and Dutch language verbally and written.
- Experience with recycling technology, life cycle analysis and/or polymer characterization is required.
- Experience with national and European funded programs.
- Experience with thermoplastic and their processing.
- Project management experience.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.

• Salary range between € 65K – 80K per year depending on work experience.
