SUMMARY OF JOB:
The focus of this position is on providing quality assurance and controlled work by dimensional inspection of parts from manufacturing areas.  The technician will determine conformance with expected product properties using customer defined specifications. They are expected to perform all work safely and accurately with a commitment to on-time delivery.  

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES

  • Inspect first articles, in-process parts, and products prior to shipment using gauges, coordinate measuring machine.
  • Generate first article inspection reports using AS9102 Forms.
  • Reconcile final inspection documentation for shipments.
  • Use precision measuring instruments including micrometers and calipers, and fixtures and gauges to check work and perform detailed inspection of parts produced.
  • Generate non-conformance reports.
  • Responsible for the completeness and accuracy of all work performed in their work area.
  • Maintain work areas in a neat, orderly, and safe condition.
  • Responsible for compliance with all Toray safety and quality program requirements. 

EXPERIENCE AND/OR EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Familiar with metrology equipment: height gauges, calipers, micrometers, analytical balance, etc.
  • GD&T and PCDMIS experience.

  • Good problem solving and conceptual skills.
  • Blueprint analysis, mechanical system knowledge, critical thinking, tool familiarity
  • Excellent communication skills to convey detailed instructions to the machine operators, and to communicate with and engineers regarding designs and drawings.
  • Proven ability to successfully multi-task in a fast paced, high throughput environment.
  • Make a positive contribution to maintaining a workplace that is healthy, safe, neat and tidy.
  • Ability to fluently read and write English, comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions.

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Technical capabilities, including CMM and PCMM (Romer Arm).
  • Familiar with CAD models (IGES, Step, Solidworks, Catia)
  • Experience working within AS9100/ISO9001 environment.
  • Proficient using a PC in a windows environment. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Excellent attendance, ability to work overtime, weekends and off shifts as needed.
  • Perform all duties in compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
